Exploring Watches and Wonders 2024: Our Favorite New Releases

Watches and Wonders 2024 has concluded for another year, so what perfect time to reflect on one of the watch worlds most important weeks, and take a look back at some of our favorite new releases from our partner brands. Craftsmanship and beauty, and diversity of the timepieces on display. The exhibition showcased the latest collections from some of the most renowned watchmakers in the world, and we were thrilled to witness their unique creations.

Angelus:

The Instrument de Vitesse collection was one of the standout pieces at the event. As a watch enthusiast, I was particularly drawn to this timepiece that captures the essence of the golden age of timed races with its single timing hand, "the centre seconds hand," that can time up to one minute. The watch is housed in a 39-mm steel case, and the 4.20 mm manually wound Manufacturer calibre ensures that the finished timepiece is less than 10 mm thick. The Instrument de Vitesse is available in two limited series of 25 timepieces with an ivory-white or ebony-black dial, each dial radiating a unique charm and elegance that is hard to resist.

Arnold & Son:

Longitude Titanium is a sports-chic COSC-certified chronometer that not only exudes sophistication and elegance but also commands admiration for its impeccable craftsmanship. The watch's 42.5 mm titanium case is a testament to the meticulous attention to detail, complemented by a unique dial that features a vertical satin finish that seamlessly continues on the bracelet's finish. The polished edges of its links subtly intersect the satin finish, adding a touch of luxury to the watch. The Longitude Titanium pays tribute to John Arnold's marine chronometers, his revolutionary vision, and his decisive role in calculating longitude at sea, with a power-reserve display at 12 o'clock and an imposing seconds counter at 6 o'clock.

Czapek Geneve:

Introduced its Promenade collection, expressing simplicity, style, substance, and joy. The watch's slim case hosts Czapek's in-house calibre SXH5, initially developed for the sporting Antarctique. The Promenade dial's signature asymmetry design radiates from the small seconds dial placed at 4:30, producing a sense of dynamic tension and flowing movement. The "Goutte d'eau" model harnesses the beauty of grand feu enamel to a mesmerizing effect. As the watch moves, an optical illusion is created, and ripples appear to radiate out from the seconds sub-dial, evoking the image of drops of water falling on a still surface.

Louis Moinet:

"AROUND THE WORLD IN 8 DAYS" is a contemporary ode to the famous odyssey imagined by Jules Verne. Each watch in the collection features a unique dial that captures the essence of a magnificent metropolis, with original materials ranging from rock crystal to aventurine, from genuine fragments of history to high-tech materials. The watches are horological works of art that showcase the brand's exceptional craftsmanship and creativity.

Parmigiani Fleurier:

Reveal the new Toric Petite Seconde collection, a true masterpiece demonstrating the brand's exceptional attention to detail and craftsmanship. Available in rose gold or platinum, every watch element is crafted in gold, including the pinnacle of a new manufacture movement and the meticulously hand-finished grené and chevé dials. The watch is complemented by a new palette of hand-stitched nubuck alligator straps that perfectly match the watch's sophisticated and elegant design.

Trilobe:

Heure Exquise – Blue Edition is a watch that takes poetry to a higher level with its enchanting celestial design. The watch features a moon phase and an enchanting celestial door that opens at the heart of the dial, revealing a ballet of stars dancing on a sapphire crystal to the rhythm of the seconds. The "Blue Edition" is limited to 100 pieces and comes in three variations with sand-blasted dials: Dune, Blue, and Secret.

Ulysse Nardin:

Freak [S NOMAD] collection was an unconventional and design-focused masterpiece that pushed the boundaries of watchmaking. The watch's 99-piece limited edition features a unique design that reflects the brand's independent spirit and quest for new territories. The watch is a paradox, representing Ulysse Nardin's love of haute horlogerie and rare handcrafts while showcasing its technical and design prowess. The hour disc that sits behind the carousel spaceship movement is a testament to the brand's passion for exquisite luxury watches.

In conclusion, Watches and Wonders 2024 was an unforgettable experience showcasing the best contemporary watchmaking. Each brand brought something unique to the event, and we were captivated by their creativity, attention to detail, and exceptional craftsmanship. We can't wait to receive these pieces at our London luxury showroom.
